Corey Shelson, MBA

President

A driven entrepreneur with a strong leadership background, Corey founded 44 North Digital Marketing in 2015. Corey has become a trusted name in the industry through his mentorship roles at Prince’s Trust Canada, Operation Entrepreneur (POE) and Georgian College’s Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre. Corey is a sought-after public speaker and digital marketing trainer who has spoken to audiences at the Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University Accelerator and Western University Propel Entrepreneurship Centre.

Prior to his career in business, Corey served for 13 years as a Military Engineer Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. Corey is the recipient of the General Campaign Star, Canadian Forces’ Decoration and Joint Task Force Afghanistan Commander’s Commendation.

Jackie Hougham

Vice President of Strategy & Operations

As VP of Strategy & Operations, Jackie leads the day to day operations at 44 North with an effective approach to drive measurable results: have a clear action-based goal, work in collaboration, have the customer in mind, challenge ideas, show courage to try something new, and learn from it. Jackie has extensive experience in food & beverage consumer products, product development & innovation, strategic planning, customer insight, brand management and P&L management.

She is passionate about leadership, self-reflection and personal development and understands the value of building and maintaining strong partnerships in order to succeed.

Scott Wilkinson

Director of Partnerships

As the Director of Partnerships Scott knows that business is about relationships. With more than a decade of experience in relationship management in the fitness, automotive and financial industries he is able to draw on a wealth of experience and success to deliver world class results for his partners. In the digital space, Scott spent 4 years managing some of the largest Social Media Influencers on Facebook to distribute some of the most viral digital publishing articles of our time.

When Scott is not pushing the boundaries of success in digital marketing, you can find him volunteering as a peewee football coach for the London Minor Football Association, or playing keyboard for Canadian Country Music artist Eric Ethridge. As a recipient of the Certificate of Appreciation from the City of London in 2019 and a nomination for the Canadian Country Music Association’s Keyboard Player of the Year award in 2020, it’s clear that Scott believes that anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Jillian Matthies

Production Manager

Jillian joined 44 North Digital Marketing in 2017, and immediately became a critical member of the team. With extensive experience in website design, marketing automation and configuration, she is an integral leader of all production projects. A dedicated expert in developing responsive, conversion-optimization marketing collateral for 44 North clients, she is well versed across a variety of leading design and development tools, such as marketing automation design and configuration, paid advertising management, project coordination, and first rate client care.

With proven abilities to prioritize tasks, ensuring deadlines are always met with high quality deliverables, her willingness to always go the extra mile for 44 North clients made her recent promotion to Production Manager an easy decision.

When she’s not juggling multiple production projects Jillian is busy tending to her other boss… her cat Cheddar. An avid gardener and consumer of reality TV, she loves to spend her vacations travelling the world with the hope of running into Ryan Gosling someday.

Jacob Bell

Account Manager

An experienced Account Manager, Jacob has aided in the planning and execution of complex projects and campaigns for companies, brands, and not-for-profit organizations alike. He works closely with both department heads and production members to ensure every goal of a client’s project is met and exceeded to ensure a long-lasting partnership.
When Jacob isn’t working with clients, you can often find him hiking with his husky Campus, or rock climbing in Collingwood.

Christopher Vachon

Development Operations Manager

With knowledge and experience gained over 15 years in the industry, Christopher brings with him an expertise in scalable internet application development focused on building reusable and testable code. In recent years, Christopher has also expanded his skill set to include many frameworks and methodologies around continuous integration and deployment with the focus to deliver seamless updates to applications.

When not in the matrix or chasing after his family, Christopher shares a passion for travel, music and beer.

David Keefe

Full Stack Developer

David is a highly skilled and versatile programmer with more than 10 years of experience developing and building on the web. Living with a visual impairment, David is dedicated to building modern web applications that are both beautiful and accessible for all users. David has a hard-working attitude and is always keen to learn a new skill or try out a new framework.

When unplugged, David enjoys travelling, attending concerts, and spending time on Georgian Bay with his wife and two dogs, Rocky and Kodak.

Dylan O’Leary

Full Stack Developer

Dylan is an accomplished programmer with tremendous proficiency in Full Stack Development. Dylan is effectively able to provide simple solutions to complex problems at any level of the tech stack, with experience developing front and back end applications. Dylan is constantly looking to expand his skill set and strives towards writing modular, reusable, and maintainable code. Dylan ensures that his code is well tested and is ready to tackle the production environment.

When not clacking away on his keyboard, Dylan enjoys playing and recording music, as well as hiking with his three dogs, Boone, Layla, and Roxy.

With experience in both front and back end development, Emma will play a key role in almost every 44 North project. Josh Overbeek

Digital Marketing Specialist

Josh is a performance marketer with a deep knowledge of SEO, social media marketing, search engine marketing and conversion rate optimization. He works with state-of-the-art technologies in machine learning and AI to drive pipeline growth for our clients. Josh helps steward marketing budgets by ensuring all initiatives are metrics-driven and aligned with each business’s unique opportunities and challenges. He has a reputation for creating measurable lift in business outcomes while solving for complex technical and regulatory challenges for a wide range of companies and verticals.

When Josh isn’t generating value for our clients, he enjoys reading/watching horror fiction and spending time with his wife and two sons.

Adriana Walters

Senior Graphic Designer & Social Media Coordinator

Passionate about every project she is involved in, Adriana is quick, creative, and perceptive. With an eye for detail and design, she brings refreshingly unique ideas to the table for 44 North clients. There is no task or project too big for Adriana, and her talents are a vital component to the execution of each and every team member’s role. While she loves all things design-related, her favourite projects are those involving web design and branding. Adriana is proficient in Adobe Suite, Corel Painter, and Google Web Designer.

When she’s offline, Adriana enjoys nature photography, listening to music, drawing and playing both card and video games.

Alex McGuire

Graphic Designer & Web Developer

Alex is a skilled user experience designer and interactive media specialist. She has a keen eye for design and is an advocate for the brand and customer journey as a whole. She has the ability to develop content managed websites, bringing her designs to life and is passionate about creating optimized solutions that integrate tools and technology. Alex has provided support to a number of clients, helping her better understand both business and consumer needs. She considers every audience touchpoint an opportunity to create a consistent, on brand and meaningful solution. Her favourite projects involve web, social media and brand strategy. Alex is proficient with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and has good working knowledge of digital marketing strategies.

When she’s not designing or developing Alex can be found watching comedy skits, reading leadership books, decorating her home or spending time with her family and dog, Cali.

Laura Zuluaga

Graphic Designer

Laura is an expressive designer whose personality radiates through her work. She has tremendous experience designing websites, brand guides, digital content and graphics for various agencies, startups, and most recently freelancing. She specializes in branding, UI design, and brand strategy. Laura has a wealth of experience in building relationships, client management and strategizing robust digital marketing plans.

When she’s not working, you will find Laura painting, playing with her dog, or watching a scary movie.

Alec Scott

Graphic Designer

A graphic designer in career and at heart, with a heavy focus on web design and user experience – Alec is always looking to consolidate client needs and find a way to inject his taste and creativity into every nook and cranny of a project. With a heap of web development experience and a knack for client conversation, he loves to get right into a project and help in any way he can. While he can wear many hats, his heart is always looking at the client’s needs and how to get the wheels going.

When offline, Alec is a lifelong gamer, avid metalhead and a new age family man.

Rachel Thompson

Executive Administrative Assistant

Rachel Thompson plays a critical role as 44 North’s Executive Administrative Assistant. With an impressive background in customer service, accounting, and administration, Rachel also brings a wealth of experience from the software industry. Her knowledge and organizational expertise are tremendous assets to the 44 North team.

In her spare time Rachel enjoys the outdoors, interior decorating and cooking. Those of course take a back seat to spending every free moment with her two daughters and their 1 year old Morkie puppy, Gigi. Welcome Rachel!

Lindsey McCaffrey

Content Strategist & Brand Journalist

For more than 20 years, Lindsey has developed premium marketing-communications content for B2B, B2C, government and non-profit clients across a wide range of industries. Lindsey’s mantra is “clarity first, razzle-dazzle second.” Specifically, she first focuses on ensuring audiences will understand the subject matter before adding in the small-but-oh-so-significant nuances of persuasive language.

Lindsey is a trained journalist and recipient of a Gold Quill award from the International Association of Business Communicators and has been invited to speak at multiple conferences about effectively using content to build brands and businesses.

A true “word nerd,” Lindsey loves Scrabble, Balderdash, and crossword puzzles. Currently, she is trying to raise her pre-teenage son to love writing as much as she does (which, so far, has been a relatively unsuccessful feat).

Noah Campbell

Creative Content Specialist

With over 14 years in the Advertising industry, Noah has done (and continues to do) it all. Noah has experience as an award-winning creative writer, college professor, radio host, photographer, videographer, content creator and a business owner. He has also worked as a web designer, graphic designer, social media manager, marketing consultant and copy writer.

In his spare time Noah enjoys rock climbing, ultralight backpacking, camping, travelling and adventures.
