Corey Shelson, MBA

President

A driven entrepreneur with a strong leadership background, Corey founded 44 North Digital Marketing in 2015 with the vision of creating an agency that could do it all. Corey has become a trusted name in the industry through his work in roles including Digital Marketing Coach at Ryerson University’s Chang School of Business’ Experiential Learning Exchange and Entrepreneurship Mentor at Georgian College’s Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre. Corey is a sought-after public speaker and digital marketing trainer who has spoken to audiences at the Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University Accelerator, Western University Propel Entrepreneurship Centre, the Inspiring Innovation Conference in Collingwood and Unlondon Forward Speaker Series.

Prior to his career in business, Corey served for 12 years as a Combat Engineer Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces. Corey is the recipient of the General Campaign Star, Canadian Forces’ Decoration and Joint Task Force Afghanistan Commander’s Commendation.

Jackie Hougham

Vice President of Strategy & Operations

As VP of Strategy & Operations, Jackie leads the day to day operations at 44 North with an effective approach to drive measurable results: have a clear action-based goal, work in collaboration, have the customer in mind, challenge ideas, show courage to try something new, and learn from it. Jackie has extensive experience in food & beverage consumer products, product development & innovation, strategic planning, customer insight, brand management and P&L management.

She is passionate about leadership, self-reflection and personal development and understands the value of building and maintaining strong partnerships in order to succeed.

Crystal Pollard

Vice President of Business Development

Crystal brings a strong passion for business development, entrepreneurship and innovation to the 44 North team as demonstrated by over a decade of experience leading programs, clients, teams and partnerships in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. Crystal has played an integral role in helping businesses in various industries start, grow and scale, working with organizations such as the Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Center at Georgian College. Crystal also spent a number of years building, mentoring and leading teams in the market research industry with Dig Insights, helping large B Corp companies use consumer insights to inform decision making.

Without a doubt, Crystal has an endless curiosity when it comes to understanding people, processes and businesses giving her a unique perspective on what businesses need to succeed.

Steedan Crowe

Full Stack Developer & Dev Ops Manager

With over 15 years of design and web experience, Steedan has worked with countless clients to develop content managed websites, web-based applications, logos, illustrations, promotional videos, voiceovers and DevOps infrastructure solutions. Highly motivated and passionate, Steedan is well versed in a variety of both server-side and client-side programming languages including PHP, Javascript, HTML and CSS, Ruby on Rails, Cold Fusion and Node.js. Steedan’s technical prowess allows him to approach every challenge with his best foot forward and he is always dedicated to providing the best solutions possible.

In his spare time, Steedan enjoys sailing, playing instruments such as the guitar and drums and anything related to the great outdoors. His current personal projects include restoring a 1974 C&C sailboat and producing a podcast.

Josh Overbeek

Digital Marketing Specialist

Josh is a performance marketer with a deep knowledge of SEO, social media marketing, search engine marketing and conversion rate optimization. He works with state-of-the-art technologies in machine learning and AI to drive pipeline growth for our clients. Josh helps steward marketing budgets by ensuring all initiatives are metrics-driven and aligned with each business’s unique opportunities and challenges. He has a reputation for creating measurable lift in business outcomes while solving for complex technical and regulatory challenges for a wide range of companies and verticals.

When Josh isn’t generating value for our clients, he enjoys reading/watching horror fiction and spending time with his wife and two sons.

Jillian Matthies

Designer / Web Developer

Jillian is dedicated to designing and developing responsive, conversion-optimization marketing collateral for 44 North clients. She is well versed across a variety of leading design and development tools across Adobe, Premier Pro, WordPress, Squarespace and Shopify. In addition, Jillian is proficient in a variety of programming languages including HTML5, MySQL, CSS, Javascript, Ajax and JQuery. Jillian’s creativity shines through her work as she creates custom designs that are tailored towards each client’s needs.

Adriana Walters

Web Design and Branding Specialist

Passionate about every project she is involved in, Adriana is quick, creative, and perceptive. With an eye for detail and design, she brings refreshingly unique ideas to the table for 44 North clients. There is no task or project too big for Adriana, and her talents are a vital component to the execution of each and every team member’s role. While she loves all things design-related, her favourite projects are those involving web design and branding. Adriana is proficient in Adobe Suite, Corel Painter, and Google Web Designer.

When she’s offline, Adriana enjoys nature photography, listening to music, drawing and playing both card and video games.

Scott Roffey

Graphic Designer

When it comes to graphic design, Scott has an uncanny ability to put himself in the shoes of the client. He tackles each problem with a user-centred process, allowing him to craft simple and logical, yet powerful designs. While Scott is passionate about interactive design, he also enjoys brand development, logo development and print design.

In his spare time, Scott enjoys playing with his dog, sketching, listening to musicals, reading dark fantasy novels, and playing puzzles and video games.

Noah Campbell

Creative Content Specialist

With over 14 years in the Advertising industry, Noah has done (and continues to do) it all. Noah has experience as an award-winning creative writer, college professor, radio host, photographer, videographer, content creator and a business owner. He has also worked as a web designer, graphic designer, social media manager, marketing consultant and copy writer.

In his spare time Noah enjoys rock climbing, ultralight backpacking, camping, travelling and adventures.
